Two Way Radio Batteries

Whatever your use for two way radios, they take a beating.  Over time, capacity is reduced, they take damage, and over long periods of time, they will often just run over the max number of recharge cycles intended for the battery.  Buying a new radio is not the solution, especially at costs which are often in the hundreds or thousands of dollars, and buying from the manufacturer often results in you paying much more than you need to.  Amazon.com has an extensive collection of replacement two way radio batteries at great prices.  They usually come in either Li-Ion, NiMh, or NiCd formats, all of which have their advantages.  If you use the two way radios in sub freezing temperatures for long stretches at a time, then NiCd is likely the way to go.  Make sure if you go that route with NiCd batteries that you get a smart charger that will automatically drain and condition your batteries between each use and tell you when they are ready.  If not, you are looking at severely reducing overall lifespan of the batteries.  NiMh is a good option if the radios change hands several times a day or if the batteries are frequently drained down to minimal charge.  Li-Ion batteries have the highest charge capacity, but tend to be heavier and can take damage if you drain them to below 10% capacity on a regular basis.
